Maine Crafts Association: Ten Years of Master Craft Artists

Exhibition dates: June 8, 2019 - October 27, 2019

Fuller Craft Museum is pleased to partner with the Maine Crafts Association to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Master Crafts Artist award. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon one-three Maine craft artists each year in recognition of an exceptional body of work. Presenting a wide range of media, the exhibition features all 17 Artist Award winners, including Steven Cayard, Paul Heroux, Patricia Daunis-Dunning, David Wolfe, Christian Becksvoort, J. Fred Woell, Lissa Hunter, Katharine Cobey, Jacques Vesery, Lynn Duryea, Theresa Secord, Sharon Townshend, Sam Shaw, Rebecca Goodale, Elizabeth Busch, Anna Hepler and 2019 awardee, Tom Ferrero.

Also on display in Fuller Craft Museum’s Café in accordance with the Maine Crafts Association exhibition is Artists in Their Studios: A Photography Project for Maine, a project developed by the Maine Crafts Association to document fine craft artists in the spaces where they create. The project seeks to further expose the role and depth of the state’s fine craft, and to reach and excite collectors and the general public through imagery which reveals studio life and artistic process of artists working in traditional and contemporary craft mediums. Artists featured are Barbara Burns, Christine Caswell, James Macdonald, David Jacobson, Lynn Duryea, Lisa Ferreira, and Erica Moody—with all photographs by Maine’s Michael D. Wilson.
