Investing in the Future of Craft

Capital Campaign Overview

For more than 50 years, Fuller Craft Museum has evolved alongside the arts and the community it serves. Made possible through the generosity of Myron Leslie Fuller, the Brockton Art Center-Fuller Memorial opened in 1969 and became the Fuller Museum of Art on its twentieth anniversary. In 2001, the Museum began shifting its focus to contemporary craft, formally becoming Fuller Craft Museum in 2004.

Learn more about Fuller Craft Museum’s History

Since accessioning our first piece, Salome by Elbert Weinberg, in 1968, our collection has grown to more than 1,800 objects by 761 artists, spanning wood, metal, glass, ceramic, fiber, and beyond, making Fuller Craft New England’s destination for contemporary craft.

Now, we are at a critical juncture. Our current facilities lack sufficient space to properly store and care for this growing collection, challenging our ability to responsibly steward these important works and continue building one of the nation’s leading collections of contemporary craft.

We invite you to help shape the museum’s next chapter by investing in spaces, programs, and experiences that will serve generations to come. We are pleased to announce our fundraising campaign for the Paul J. Smith Collections Center and Accessibility Upgrades Project, which includes a Collection Resource and Study Room, ADA-compliant improvements such as an accessible ramp at the main entrance and a new elevator, and a refreshed education entrance featuring the Rain and Reflection Garden. Donors like you are making it possible.

Building the Next Chapter

As New England’s only museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary craft, Fuller Craft Museum has long been a place where artists, students, families, and visitors come together to explore creativity, spark dialogue, and build community. As we enter an exciting new chapter, our Capital Campaign will strengthen the museum’s campus, expand access, and ensure Fuller Craft Museum continues to inspire and serve our community.

Sarah Richards, Board of Directors, Vice Chair

I proudly support the Fuller Craft Museum because it offers exceptional opportunities for our students at every level. Our students are given meaningful opportunities to experience and showcase their creativity. Having a museum in their own backyard makes these experiences even more powerful and accessible. Fuller Craft Museum is an amazing community partner that truly puts Brockton students at the forefront of its mission, enriching their education and inspiring the next generation of artists.

Chris Rifkin, Board of Directors

First time visitors often exclaim that Fuller Craft Museum is such a jewel. Yes, it is, and it will continue to be as we expand our collection storage and add further ADA improvements. Our doors are open for all to come and experience our exhibitions, art classes, educational programming and community events. I am looking forward to our next chapter, and am excited for the future of the only craft museum in New England, where we exhibit and collect art made using the hands and the hearts of our artists.
