Indigo dyeing is a traditional dyeing technique that creates beautiful, deep blue hues. Learn the basics of Indigo dyeing by exploring a variety of techniques. You will create a set of 4 hand-dyed cotton napkins. (These make excellent gifts). Traditional shibori, resist, and pole-dyeing techniques will be included with hands-on help. Come have fun, get messy, explore and see what you can do!
The fee includes all materials needed, additional materials will be available for purchase to dye. No previous experience necessary!
This event will be held outside. Please bring a bagged lunch.

Cathy Wilkerson, aka Indigo Squirrel, is a textile designer and teacher at Rhode Island School of Design. She has 30 years of experience in the home furnishings industry, working with manufacturers in Europe, India, and the US. Cathy is the Territory Sales Manager for a global window treatment manufacturer and loves sewing, knitting, and weaving in her spare time.
