[SOLD OUT] Fused Glass Sushi Set

Classes
May 5, 2024
10AM-1PM

In this 3 hour workshop you will learn the basics of glass fusing while having fun playing with glass shapes, colors, and textures. First, you will learn how to use glass powders, frits, confetti, stringers, and copper sheets. Then, you’ll design and create your own sushi set: a big square plate (8″x8”) or long channel plate (4.25”x13”), two individual dishes (6”x6”), and one small dipping sauce dish (3”x3”).

Additional individual dishes can be made for an extra cost of $25, (large plates $50 extra). Your instructor will fire your glass creations in his own kiln. They will be available for pick-up at Fuller Craft Museum within two weeks.

*Students must wear closed toes shoes. Safety glasses will be provided.

Instructor: Michel L’huillier
Michel L’Huillier discovered his love of glass after studying fine arts and art history in Strasbourg, France. On a smaller scale than his architectural work, Michel designs and creates stunning and functional fused glass objects with intricate colored inlays that can be found on exhibit and for purchase at museums and galleries including the deCordova Museum and Boston’s Society of Arts & Crafts. His work has also been exhibited at juried craft shows, such as Craft Boston. At the 2015 Holiday Craft Boston show, he received the “Award of Distinction in Glass”.
