8-Week Class. For those who have always loved quilts and want to learn the art of quilt making, this class is for you. You will learn the basic steps in quilting, from planning and drafting your design, choosing the fabrics, appliqué stitching and patchwork piecing, basting and quilting your three layers together, binding and signing.
Each students will make a small multi-block quilt with sashing and borders. In each block you will learn a different technique. All the steps in making a bed size quilt will be covered, but our final product will be about 42” square, or a 21” by 52” table runner.
This class is designed for hand sewing, but it will include a machine demo on quick-piecing methods and tips for using a sewing machine. Instructor: Laura Rosenspan
We will hand out a material’s list to discuss at the first meeting (no need to bring anything to the first meeting)
