K – 2nd Grade Discovery Tours

Discovery Tours are a great way to introduce the wonders of the museum to your K – 2nd grade students! Fuller Craft Museum is filled with an incredible collection of art objects, handcrafted from wood, glass, metal, ceramic and fiber. Begin your experience with a hands-on exploration in a quiet, safe, and immersive exhibition space. The program is 60-minutes in length and introduces teachers, students, and parent/caregivers to the foundation of craft, the tools artists use, and inquiry-based investigations. We offer programs for K – 2nd grade students on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings and can be paired with a hand-on craft project for an additional fee.

3 – 5 Grade Tours

Our 3rd – 5th grade tours utilize Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) techniques, a research-based teaching method that improves critical thinking and language skills through discussions of art objects. VTS encourages participation and self-confidence, especially among students who struggle. Each tour is designed to get students actively looking at, and engaging with the work on exhibit, while using critical thinking skills.

6 – 12 Grade Tours

Explore a variety of objects from the Museum’s five craft media collection, as well as special exhibitions in contemporary craft. Museum Educators focus on a selection of works during the tour to promote dialogue, critical thinking, and closer looking.
