This powerful exhibition highlights the remarkable craftsmanship emerging from the New Hampshire Furniture Masters’ Prison Outreach Program—an initiative that cultivates woodworking skills, self-esteem, and a sense of community among incarcerated individuals. Shaping Futures features handmade works from men’s programs in Maine and New Hampshire, as well as from the women’s program based in New Hampshire. The exhibition also celebrates the creative achievements of the program’s instructors. Through a diverse array of finely crafted objects, Shaping Futures underscores the transformative impact of making, mentorship, and the development of hand skills.
