Exhibition: June 2024

Destiny Cater: Open

Exhibition dates: June 2024

This exhibition is about the process of finding out who you are and what you truly want. What really matters is what’s on the inside. Everything is inside every human, rather than thinking everything is outside of us. Viewers are reminded not to judge before they know and to open their minds and hearts. What you see is way beyond the surface. – Destiny Cater

About the Artist:
Destiny Cater is Fuller Craft Museum’s first Emerging Artist in Residence. Destiny studied art in school and had her work displayed in the Harbor One Bank Art Show at Brockton High and in the Brockton Youth Creates exhibit here at Fuller Craft Museum. As a recent graduate from Brockton High School, she was looking for her next step as an artist. She imagined a “dreamland full of artists that work hard to tell stories that cannot be told by speech but by hand” and looked to the museum as inspiration. Destiny was with us for 10 weeks creating the work for this show and was able to explore new inspirations here at Fuller Craft Museum.

A special thank you to the anonymous donor who made the Emerging Artist in Residence program possible and for their commitment to supporting the next generation of artists.
