2-day, weekend workshop. This workshop combines Paper Marbling and Book Arts for a survey of contemporary uses of marbling throughout the book structure. Far beyond the traditional use of paper marbling as end papers within the interiors of books, we'll take our marbled creations onto the covers, as the content or "text block", and even the book cloth. For the health and safety of our visitors, this workshop is suspended until further notice. Open studio is offered exclusively for Fuller Craft Museum Members with prior experience in ceramics and need a studio to work in. There is a studio monitor but, no instruction.  Session fee (per ten weeks) includes use of all Fuller Craft Museum ceramic studio equipment including: Wheels, sink, hand building tables, wedging table, throwing tools, wire tools, and other hand tools located in the ceramic studio as well as firing…

Introduction to Shibori and Indigo Workshop
(June 13)

Experience the surface design technique of shibori, and create unique patterns on fabric using the natural dye indigo. Shibori, or physical resist, has been a traditional pattern-making technique in Japan, India, Africa throughout history, and continues today. We will begin experimenting with Japanese approaches such as Kumo (binding), Ori-Nui (stitching), Itajime (clamping) and Arashi (pole wrapping).
