Monotype: Colorful Layering

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until November 15, 2017
Create unique monotypes in this exciting 6-week course. Learn basic manual (off-press) printmaking techniques while exploring color overlays. Students will discover a variety of techniques including layering original prints, rice papers, and other found paper sources as well as using transparent colors to create depth and layers. Students will complete prints where color, pattern, and texture will be revealed in their finished work. Instructor: Paula DeSimone.
Brayers and plexiglass printing plates available four use, students must provide the following supplies:
• Speedball Water-based Blockprinting Inks: Black, Red, Yellow and Blue
• Speedball Retarder
• Rice Paper (smooth surface – recommended – Mulberry)
• Wax paper
• Found materials for texture—fresh foliage, lace, mesh, netting, string etc.
