Due to the Covid-19 crisis, all workshop registrations will happen online only.
Classes are held in person, in our studios.
Learn the basic techniques necessary to draw anything. Using a variety of materials, students will learn and practice drawing skills. Basic materials provided, Additional supplies my be suggested per instructor directions. This course will introduce students to various drawing techniques such as gesture, contour, space, and perspective – all geared towards improving your ability to see and allowing you to further your freedom of expression. Instructor: Hayley Perry
Goals: Students will improve their ability to see space, shape, and value, which will improve their drawing skills. Students will learn some tips and techniques in the areas of objective drawing as well as expressive drawing. Students will learn basic drawing materials and vocabulary and gain experience using both. Students will learn how to have a critique about drawings by the end of the class sessions.
Students must bring the following materials:
– Newsprint paper, drawing paper – 18 x 24 inches
– a variety of vine, compressed charcoal
– heavy duty large drawing paper sheets
– sketchbook
– drawing pencils
– drawing board and clips
This course meets weekly on Thursday evenings for 8 consecutive weeks, unless otherwise noted by the instructor.
