Bookbinding with Deanna Jacome

June 3, 2017 - June 4, 2017

Have you ever wanted to make your own journal or sketchbook, but haven’t known where to begin? This class will cover all the basic skills you need to create your own personal journal or sketchbook. A brief history of “the book” and its significance in our world will be discussed. Various folds and sewing techniques will be practiced prior to the creation of the book. The distinctly different properties of paper, threads, and glues will be understood as well. A detailed demonstration of bookbinding will be provided as you sew along with the instructor.
