Annette Bellamy: Floating

June 28, 2014 - November 2, 2014

Annette Bellamy, Sinkers (detail), 2012, stoneware, porcelain, earthenware, nylon line. Photo by Chris Arend.

In Bellamy’s words, “Floating is an exhibition of sculpture work that reflects the idea of transformation. The forms move space and make it mobile, floating, reachable and fleeting. Each sculpture has a life of its own and takes part in revitalizing the others.”

Bellamy has been a commercial fisher in Alaska for 40 years, long lining halibut and gill netting for salmon. This work has inspired her work and her use of materials in this exhibition.

On Sunday, June 29, 2:00 pm, join us for the Summer Exhibitions Reception celebrating Annette Bellamy: Floating, Dorothy Simpson Krause: Book and Art, and Shine a Light: Artistic Expressions from Gateway Arts. There will be a Dorothy Simpson Krause lecture at 2:00 pm and an Annette Bellamy gallery talk at 3:30 pm. $7 Members $15 Nonmembers

*This exhibition was made possible by the Gretchen Keyworth Exhibition Fund.
