Summer Programs

Want to make sure your kids and teens are engaged in fun and creative activities this summer? Each workshop is carefully designed to create a diverse and engaging art experience for your child. We will focus on hands-on craft projects, a behind-the-scenes tour of our amazing exhibition galleries and a chance to explore our beautiful walking trails. The young artists will have an opportunity to work in the studio with a professional artist. At Fuller Craft we encourage self-expression while promoting mastery of a variety of media and materials.  

This program will have two sessions specifically designed for:
Craftn’ Kids (ages 8-11) and Teen-Craft Studio (ages 12-15).

Early drop off is available. Hurry enrollment for this popular program is limited!

After School Art Classes
Drawing and Painting

Fuller Craft Museum understands that drawing and painting are the foundation for making any type of art. We are proud to now offer after school art classes to the community. During our six week studio class, students will have the opportunity to nurture their creativity through drawing and painting. These hour long classes are led by a professional artist for students of varying abilities. Students will work with acrylic paint, pen and ink, charcoal,m watercolor, and pencil. Help your child launch a lifelong interest in self-expression through art!

Superb Soldering
Instructor: Amie Plante

Designed for students with basic jewelry skills, this workshop will review techniques such as sweat soldering, butt and post joints, jump ring soldering, and ring sizing.  Amie will demonstrate and share numerous tips and tricks to help get your soldering skills up to speed.  Discussion will also include procedures for choosing and setting up the proper torch for your home studio.

Chasing and Repoussé
Instructor: Corrie Silvia

Repoussé is the technique used to work on the reverse of the metal to form a raised design on the front. Chasing is used to refine the design on the front of the work by sinking the metal. Try your hand at both techniques in this two day workshop.

Organic Jewelry

Flowers and botanical forms can offer us infinite sources of inspiration. In this class students will learn a wide variety of techniques used to create organic and natural-looking forms and shapes in metal. We will cover piercing, stretching the metal, forging heavier gauges, hammering textures to mimic nature, create undulating forms, and roll printing. All skill levels welcome!

Experimental/Hybrid Bookmaking

With basic book structures as our jumping off point, we'll create exciting new hybrid bindings that take the book into the realm of sculpture. A brief overview of basic artist's bookmaking techniques and materials will start the journey, followed by demonstrations and creativity exercises to explore ways to merge different binding techniques. Open lab time will concentrate on personal projects.

Paintable Electronics!

Open a book to make it glow, draw a sketch to create music, touch a pop-up book to make it move. This workshop will teach you how to create interactive paintings and paper sculptures that sparkle, change shape, and sing. We'll spend the day exploring the intersections of paper crafts and electronics using paper, conductive paints, traditional paints, lights, speakers, and glue. No previous experience required.

Using a Rigid Grid: Hardware Cloth

Hardware cloth is very much like a rigid needlepoint canvas. The artist will discuss the preparation of the grid for art work (cleaning, cutting and painting) and introduce ou to some of the many things you can do with it. Both flexible and rigid elements can be combined with it.
