Meet the Maker: Quilting Workshop with
Laura Rosenspan

Saturday, June 23 2:30 – 4:30 pm
$25 Members $35 Nonmembers

Here's a taste of quilting in a workshop where you will sew, by hand, a traditional quilt block. The pattern is The Grandmother's Flower Garden. From a simple hexagon shape there are many designs you can make. And by using contemporary fabrics and perhaps a new layout, you can sew new life into an old design—or stick to tradition.

This is a workshop for all ages, moms and daughters, fathers with sons, sisters and cousins. Work together or independently. It would help if you can bring your own paper scissor and fabric scissor, ruler, and pencil. Pins, needles, thread and fabrics will be provided—unless you want to bring your own selection of fabric.
Share a pleasant afternoon quilting with Laura Rosenspan. Feel free to email her with any questions LRQuilts@aol.com

Song is a powerful and often underutilized medium of transformation. Bob Franke's songwriting workshops have inspired songwriters all across the United States to tap more deeply into this power and take responsibility for it as artists. The workshops involve individual writing assignments and the formation of a working songwriters' group as a model experience to be taken back into the participants' home communities. By the end of the workshop, many new songs will have been written, and many new insights gained into the possibilities of this ancient yet contemporary art form.
