Shades of Yale University, A Cappella Group Returns to Fuller Craft MuseumSaturday, February 27, 2016, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Shades is one of Yale’s premiere a cappella groups, touring extensively domestically and internationally to Puerto Rico, South Africa, Jamaica, Ireland, Japan, and more. They performed for the late, former President Nelson Mandela, and at the White House for President Barack Obama. Shades celebrates music of the African Diaspora with choreographed, vocal arrangements. Their sound is a little bit of Sweet Honey in the Rock meets Take 6 meets John Legend meets Angelique Kidjo meets Gershwin meets Big Mama Thornton. If you missed their special choreographed arrangements last year, be sure to reserve your tickets right away. Space is limited. You’re in for a wonderful performance! Fuller Craft Museum’s Communications Director Titilayo Ngwenya is a founding member of the organization. Come be inspired by the power of music. Bring the family. The show opens with wonderful poetry from the Baroneza Project.
